Space Quest Fan Games

Welcome to the Virtual Broomcloset's collection of Space Quest fan games! If you've already played through all of Roger Wilco's official adventures, you owe it to yourself to explore these incredible fan-made projects. Each one is a true labor of love and proof that the Space Quest community is home to the most dedicated fans in all of adventure gaming.

Space Quest: The Lost Chapter (2001)

If you thought Roger Wilco was just floating around the galaxy in an escape pod between Space Quest II and III, snoozing away in cryosleep, you haven't played Vonster's Space Quest: The Lost Chapter. This was the fan game that started it all — a full-length AGI adventure with original 16-color graphics. TLC is packed with clever puzzles and plenty of gruesome (and hilarious) death scenes. Best played on modern systems with ScummVM.

Space Quest 0: Replicated (2003)

Designed by Jeff Stewart, SQ0 tells a new tale of Roger Wilco, set before the events of The Sarien Encounter. After one of his famous supply-closet naps, he wakes to find the entire crew of Labion Orbital Station 10 dead. Join Roger as he escapes the station, journeys to Labion for the first time, and tries to uncover what really happened aboard LOS10. Can he save the universe from a fate too terrible to imagine? Best experienced with ScummVM.

Space Quest IV.5: The Voyage Home (2008)

Sandwiched between Space Quest IV and V, The Voyage Home finds Roger returning to Magmetheus to collect the Aluminum Mallard (after leaving it parked when he got sucked through a time rift at the beginning of SQ4). From there, he's drawn into a larger adventure, as usual, and encounters familiar favorites like the Latex Babes of Estros and Captain Raemes T. Quirk. The latest version of this interquel even includes voice acting!

Space Quest II: Vohaul's Revenge Deluxe (2011)

Space Quest II has never looked or sounded better than in this VGA point-and-click remake by Infamous Adventures! Relive Roger Wilco's first encounter with his nemesis Sludge Vohaul in an enhanced version of the classic adventure. All-new graphics, cinematic close-ups, and an original score really bring the story to life!

Space Quest: Vohaul Strikes Back (2011)

Vohaul Strikes Back was the first original full-length VGA Space Quest fan game, and it's an impressive piece of work. Set after the events of Space Quest 6, Roger Wilco once again squares off against the villainous Sludge Vohaul and his army of apemen. Game critic Richard Cobbett described it as "funny, surprisingly long, and well worth the download."

Space Quest: Incinerations (2012)

Designed by Chris "Datadog" Ushko, Space Quest: Incinerations reimagines the Space Quest series as an action-packed sci-fi blockbuster. Set "around Space Quest 9," SQ: Incinerations finds Roger Wilco at the center of a time travel conspiracy. Can he beat the odds yet again and restore the timeline? Trust me, folks; you don't want to miss this one.

Pledge Quest I & II (2012)

Okay, so these are a little different. I co-created the Pledge Quest mini-adventures with Akril to promote the Two Guys from Andromeda's SpaceVenture Kickstarter. They're not exactly Space Quest fan games, but they're not not Space Quest fan games either. In fact, Pledge Quest II: Noodle Shop of Horrors tells the untold story of what inspired the Two Guys to create Space Quest in the first place. Check 'em out!

Space Quest -1: Decisions of the Elders (2012)

Decisions of the Elders is prequeling so hard that it's gone all the way into negative numbers! Space Quest -1 follows Roger Wilco's parents, the soon-to-be-wed Jerry and Julia. After a shuttle crash separates them, Jerry must survive a hostile planet with a dark secret if he hopes to reunite with his bride-to-be.

Space Quest: A Son of Xenon (2022)

Space Quest: A Son of Xenon is another prequel from the creator of Decisions of the Elders. This game follows a young Roger Wilco before he was stationed aboard the Arcada, filling us in on how he became the sanitation engineer we all know and love. Oh, and there's one little complication: Xenon's sun is dying. Somebody should probably do something about that!

Space Quest 3D: The Pirates of Pestulon (2023)

How do you remake Space Quest III, a game that's already pretty much perfect? Well, you do what TurboChimp did: add gorgeous 3D graphics, full voice acting, and keep the same incredible game we all fell in love with decades ago. I had a blast with this one, and I think you will too!
