Let me clarify since Randall doesn't know the Lojban words.

If thedeafult quantifier doesn't do what you want, you can make explicit the
quantifier that you think should be there : "du [be] su'o lu'a

lu'a for Randall's benefit takes a single or compound argument and produces
another argument after changing its nature.  It's grammar is that of LAhE,
which closely corresponds to TLI "lae/sae".  Here are the definitions

lu'i      LAhE     the set composed of                       the set with members; converts another description type to a set of the members
lu'a      LAhE     the individuals of                        the members of the set/components of the mass; converts another description type to individuals
lu'o      LAhE     the mass composed of                      the mass composed of; converts another description type to a mass composed of the members
